Role: Travel Consultant / Senior Travel Consultant - (Marine)

Job Summary:
The Travel Consultant – Marine Ticketing will be responsible for managing end-to-end marine travel bookings and ticketing requirements for seafarers and corporate/marine clients. The role involves handling flight reservations, fare quotations, ticket issuance, reissues, cancellations, refunds, and schedule changes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely service delivery. The ideal candidate should have 2–7 years of hands-on experience in Marine Ticketing, strong knowledge of Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre, and the ability to manage multiple booking requests in a fast-paced operational environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Handle end-to-end marine ticketing operations, including flight search, reservations, fare quotation, ticket issuance, reissue, cancellation, and refunds.
  • Manage travel requirements for seafarers/crew members based on joining, sign-off, vessel schedules, and client requirements.
  • Use GDS systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre for flight availability, booking, ticketing, and servicing.
  • Identify suitable and cost-effective flight options based on routing, fare rules, baggage allowance, transit requirements, and travel timelines.
  • Handle date changes, itinerary changes, cancellations, refunds, no-shows, and schedule changes as per airline fare rules and client requirements.
  • Ensure all bookings and tickets are issued with high accuracy, minimizing errors, debit memos (ADMs), and revenue leakage.
  • Provide timely responses to client emails, booking requests, amendments, and escalations within defined TAT and SLA.
  • Coordinate with airlines, consolidators, marine clients, and internal teams to resolve booking and ticketing-related issues.
  • Monitor flight schedule changes and proactively communicate relevant updates to clients.
  • Maintain accurate PNR, ticketing, and booking documentation as per company and client processes.
  • Ensure compliance with airline policies, fare rules, ticketing deadlines, and marine travel requirements.
  • Handle urgent and last-minute travel requests while maintaining service quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain proper records of bookings, cancellations, refunds, and other ticketing transactions.
  • Follow defined SOPs and contribute suggestions for improving process efficiency, service quality, and turnaround time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marine Ticketing: 2–7 years of hands-on experience in marine travel/ticketing operations.
  • GDS Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre.
  • Ticketing Expertise: Flight booking, ticket issuance, reissue, cancellation, refund, and fare rule interpretation.
  • Marine Travel Knowledge: Understanding of seafarer/crew movement, joining/sign-off travel, and urgent travel requirements.
  • Fare Knowledge: Ability to understand fare conditions, penalties, baggage allowance, routing, and applicable restrictions.
  • Client Servicing: Strong email and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • TAT & SLA Management: Ability to manage multiple requests and deliver accurate responses within defined timelines.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on booking accuracy and prevention of ticketing errors/ADMs.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to handle schedule changes, cancellations, disruptions, and urgent travel requirements.
  • Technology Skills: Working knowledge of email/ticketing and customer-service tools such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, Genesis, Ozonetel, or equivalent platforms is preferred.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple PNRs, client requests, and urgent bookings simultaneously.
